Following our dreams does not have to be optional, but when we were children, many of us were told to focus on school or specific activities at hand. Dreaming wasn't encouraged...

If you were lucky enough to have a special parent or adult who shared this process of naming, claiming and obtaining your goals, you were also given a sense of purpose and a sense of calm. For the rest of us, we had to figure it out on your own (and some never quite seem to figure it out).

You have laid out a very simple and yet very powerful tool for success here that anyone who reads this can put into action and change their lives immediately. That's pretty amazing.

Thank you, Eliza :)

Thanks so much Valerie! I feel that for nearly our entire lives we are told to count calories, to 'exercise more & eat less' but there is so much more to why we might be stuck or even unhealthy. I know this was certainly the case for me a few years ago. I love this concept of Primary food and it's fun to find new ways to heal our bodies and spirits and not only with food! Do you have a favorite form of self care that re-energizes you when you aren't in the flow? Hugs!

Hey Eliza, I found you through Declaration of You! I have to say this post is a "wow" for me and it really strikes me as true. I've never heard the primary food/secondary food concept, but it hits home. I've noticed in times when I'm super in the flow (often days off) I forget about food. I'm also in this place where I feel like I'm sort of forcing myself to slog through some areas of my life that feel off and it seems to put everything else off too. Thanks for the insight and inspiration
